I am sure there was a turtle somewhere in the school, I'm also absolutely certain it never got used the entire time I was there :( Perhaps if any of the teachers had had an interest I might now have shared your obvious enthusiasm... Maybe that's unfair, possibly they just weren't ever trained up on it.

It sounds like you have a definite itch to scratch, you really should buy one. I don't think mine would meet your expectations, sadly... not that I'm looking to part with it. Even if I'm not (yet?) a massive Beeb enthusiast it says "Science prep room" on the side in permanent marker, and that's just cool.
