Which KDE? I'm running TrinityDesktop which is a rewrite of KDE3 and still
maintained. When KDE4 came out, it took me a while to get used to some of 
it's new "toys" but eventually I came to embrace it quite a bit. The plasma
desktops IMHO have a lot to be desired and are just excess resource hogs.

I started (linux wise) with WindowMaker and that was fine for a very long
time. Windows as a client - I prefer 2000's desktop. 95/98/Me seem to be
like the OS... incomplete. XP seems a bit too "cartoonish" out of the box,
and forget 10/11! Just raw bloatware at its finest. <G>
