Anyone else into vintage es> Apple gear? Although I've mainly been a PC/DOS/Windows user at home, I sometimes have a fondness for 90s Apple Macs, since those were often used in the schools I went to when I was growing up. Sometimes I've thought about buying a beige Power Mac G3 tower and maybe playing some games on it (and it would be a bonus if it would be able to get onto ethernet and access the internet). I've seen some good examples for sale online, but usually someone else buys it before I can. Also, the asking prices for some of them are a bit much though, IMO. I've seen people trying to sell ones that are a bit upgraded for around $1000 or more, and it seems a little steep, even if it is upgraded. Also, I started college in January 1999, which was right around the time when Apple started making translucent Macs. The first iMacs were released in 1998 (I believe), and then the G4 cube and translucent G3 and G4 towers. My college had a row of G3 (or G4?) Mac towers in their computer lab, which was otherwise PCs. Nightfox --- SBBSecho 3.20-Linux * Origin: Digital Distortion: digdist.synchro.net (21:1/137) .
