My first PC was a 286 (hand-me-down), and I'm pretty sure it had a BIOS setup screen. I remember back then, for the hard drive setup in the BIOS, there were specific choices for the hard drive type and size in the BIOS. I always thought all PCs had a BIOS setup screen (as you would have had to configure what type of hard drive, floppy drive, etc. was in the system), but maybe not?
