Av> Av> I guess others outside of the USA feel the same way too :) Av> Av> I did get to play with TRS-80 at high school and the Apple IIe back in Av> the day... they were cool too. I grew up in the UK, and whilst I had a ZX spectrum at home, really the BBC ran rings around the Speccy. The model B specifically was a triumph. Retro Man cave has a great video where he deep dives into the beeb. I like to think of the BBC as all of the best bits of most of the contemporary 8-bits at the time all in one machine. I love the Apple ][, but the beeb was superior in all ways, specifically graphics and sound though were the most important. It's a shame it didn't have much more of an international market, because if it did, it would have likely given the C64 a run for its money. I could envisage a Model C which has 64k RAM as standard. BBC Basic was a triumph, besting Microsoft BASIC (which is a huge call!). I would dearly love to have a BBC back in my collection. Getting them out here in NZ is pretty tricky though these days unfortunately.
