I remember running Doom (PC game) on it, and the Linux version of Doom seemed to run slightly faster than the DOS version of Doom.. Linux could run on that kind of PC, especially if you weren't using a GUI. I think I had heard the first version of Linux was released in 1991, where 386 PCs were still fairly common (and I think 1991 was when AMD's 386DX-40 was first released).
