I tend to rip it for easier playback on multiple devices these days, but I like having a physical copy that won't suddenly disappear. I've ripped all my music CDs to FLAC and MP3 - I've copied the MP3s to my various devices, and I keep both the MP3s and the FLACs on an external USB hard drive as a backup. I also have a Plex Media Server (which is one of the things I've copied my MP3s onto), and lately I've been ripping more of my movies from blu-ray (and DVD) to put on my Plex server. So I feel like I have the best of both worlds, owning a physical copy and being able to easily stream them from my own media server.
