I setup a local MusicBrainz mirror and downloaded the Discogs database and used a script to import the xml files, then I wrote a PERL script that would look up the barcode or catalog number. I have a barcode scanner and it was pretty easy to rip through a bunch. Only problem is, I forgot which bunch and where they are lol. I've got about 400 in my closet, a bookshelf full in the bedroom, several stacks in the hallway and a couple of huge boxes under the wife's desk so that's where my problem is. They're not sorted in any way and I don't really have room to do it until I'm going to do some kind of bubble sort lol. .
