I have a similar situation but I only had about 2500 CDs at peak. However, I've probably whittled it down to 2200; I went througha little phase of getting rid of dupes (which I was surprised I had!) ..and CDs that I was very confident that I wasn't going to bother with anymore. I started to use Discogs to begin cataloging. My rule was "if I play a CD, then document it in Discogs". I didn't get very far; maybe 8 CDs at most. :( ..and that was just in a span of a few weeks last year or so. There once was a very fine app called Shelfie. With it, you could take pictures of the SPINE of any book, and it would produce a data-record of the cover, title, author, isbn code, publisher, etc. It was truly very clever and convenient. I could just take a picture of the books filed on a shelf (or just a pile of books on the floor or lined up in a box in my case) and it would produce a detailed list. Something like that for CDs would be quite fine. --- OpenXP 5.0.51 * Origin: Why did the band never get a gig? It was called 1023MB (21:4/106.21) .
