I first heard this song by Book of Love a few years ago at an 80's
concert and it immediately struck me. I love how the song starts off
wit simple chords but with a lot of stereo mixing which bounces it
between the ears if listening with headphones. 

Then the drums come in and some other sounds, then bass, and more
keyboards...I really like songs that build up in layers.

Does anyone else have any good examples?

Another one is Silvertown Blues by Mark Knopfler.
