Actually most pop/rock/r&b music was often mixed down to a cassette or CD and 
taken out to a car to listen to at the studio since if it sounded good there 
(where most of the music was listened to) they new they had something. Nowadays 



that isn't done as often as most artists want the best sonically sounding 
recording than can get.
