I am sad so many people is bringing Monopoly up, because it is objetively a very bad game. The
players get to build their empire with some negotiations going on during the first part until a
saddle point (game theory) is reached, and then it is a two hour long grind  of players being
eliminated one after the other with close to no player input to the system.

If I had to name some non-videogame influential games from my childhood, I would name Warhammer RPG
.. Knizia's Lord of the Rings was also influential.
