By the way, I think missing 4th Edition is not missing much. It had some good
ideas but also massive flaws, and it didn't feel like DnD at all. They should
have sold it as a skirmishing game under a different name, in my opinion.

Lots of people swear for 3rd edition (and that is why we have Pathfinder
today). I personally find it a bit too burdensome to play.

I tend to like 5th Edition. It manages to be very "gamey" without being slow or
heavy on technicalities. It also feels like a family version of something that
was dark and then was watered down - just as if they remade the original
Frankenstein movie and removed the haunting parts in order to make it more PG
friendly. This is the reason why I like it, but not "that much" :-)
