To which Commodore Clifford replies...

I think it is similar to what happened to Master of Orion.  The first was
good.. the second, even better... and then the third... the things they
added to the game made it just more complicated.  More of a "chore"...
and so it flopped.

Though I did see a newer version of it on GOG... Loved every minute of
that one.  Highly recommend it.
