No long ago I was invited to a small Tradewars server. I liked the experience.
Then the server bit t.

Servers with an established playerbase are hard to join because everybody is so
powerful. You may join, travel to a sector two jumps away from your starting
position, and get obliterated by the automated defenses set by another player
on somebody's planet.

Many online games have this problem. YOu need to join when the game is starting
of join with a mentor.
