Not sure if there are any Wa> alternatives to DOSBOX under windows that does modem emulation? Not sure... Maybe VirtualBox could be used with DOS? As I have the modem connected to my Linux box, I use SyncTerm (on Windows) and its "RAW" connection type to initiate a connection to a TCP port on the Linux box, where the receiving end (socat) grabs the serial port and acts as a proxy (TTY over TCP). Works OK, but I have to enter the dial command manually, as SyncTerm does not have an option to first connect via RAW and then dial... But that's OK.
