 BinkIT, Synchronet's mailer, uses the ASCII distribution nodelist,
 not a processed/compiled version. Nodelists are small enough and
 BBSes fast enough that I don't see the benefits of a binary formatted
 nodelist over reading raw text.

 Wasn't a lot of the functionality in compiled nodelists including
 per-BBS long-distance cost tables into the list?

 When the Fido nodelist was 25,000 nodes and I was running Frontdoor
 on a 286, definitely...
