Just tried the version they compiled this morning (v1.1a from the
synctyerm.bbsdev.net)  and the error doesn't occur - the version I was using
was the previous week (oddly it reported as v 1.2a) [from sourceforge]

Also tried the latest windows installer version but Windows antivirus
software flagged it as bad and wouldn't let me run it (probably just a
windows confusion) ... both the zip and the binary from syncterm.bbsdev.net
work fine
