"/mystic/./mis poll force"

the "./" always goes right before the command you are running; in standard linux, ubuntu, whatever flavor...

just like when yer IN /mystic and you type "./mystic -cfg" to load up the config...

you always type "./" before the command you want to run..

~/mystic/./mplc myfile.mps

or whatever..
