I use python to do this. I have 2 'mods' (really just python scripts) that
can add ANSI to an existing ANSI file -- whether it's a header/footer, or
writing something in a particular X/Y location. 

For me, I use the python script to grab data from an external API (news) and
then format/write the headlines with an ANSI header and footer. It runs as a
Mystic event.
