The errors you listed are unfortunately a case of launching mis as the root
user. Even though it drops privileges to the owner, it still messes up things
like launching doors.

Try launching mis as the regular user and see if you get further. You may
have to find a workaround to bind to low ports as a regular user, though
(check out the 'setcap' command and read up on this in the mystic wiki).
