I personally use Family Tree Maker from: https://www.mackiev.com/ftm/ I have the paid version but it is very feature rich. You can import a gedcom to create your tree, then break it into short segments to be able to upload a small gedcom to a place like wikitree.com ( a free resource ). FTM allows you to get hints from Ancestry.com, and other sites as well. I don't know anything about Brothers Keeper. Try FTM to compare the two.
