His example seemed more about the six degrees of Kevin Bacon, which is about people being in films with him. Or a similar thing with Erd”s in Mathematics, which is connecting people who wrote a paper with him.

None of which are a genetic connection.

But genealogy can be fun, especially as you find out more random things of interest. E.g., a trip I took that had a lot of interesting things, including going to a church that an ancestor had been baptized at, and finding out that I'm probably related to some of the people who go to that church _now_.
