Having just bought a new Mazda recently, it's always good to hear about Mazdas lasting a long time. I've heard that from other Mazda owners as well. My previous car had about 90,000 miles on it, but I'd had it for about 14 years and I felt like it would be good to have a new(er) car. I had to get the alternator replaced in my last car about a year ago when it failed (about a $630 job at a local shop, including the part and labor) and also dealt with a cold-air emissions sensor issue that I ended up having to take to the dealership to fix (about $500) after a local shop was unable to. I imagine those things were just part of having an older car and it probably would have still been okay for quite a while though.
