We had the predecessor to that model, the Protege 5. It was a pretty
fantastic car to drive. Initially I was thinking we should get the stick
shift, but when I sat in the automatic, I thought "this is fiiiine, just
fiiiine!" We apparently ended up running it pretty hard after some years,
because that little 4banger siezed up and one of the piston connecting
rods turned to butter, folded in two, and eventually fell out of a hole
that had been busted out by another rod.

Awesome car, though. A friend of mine has had one since they came out.
You're going to enjoy it.
