Actually at the time, the only thing needed was a college degree and
proficiency in English (and by that, I mean the degree could be in
anything and you just had to be able to speak conversationally).  It
wasn't even actually teaching "English" it was more of a "don't sound 
like a foreigner so much" type of class.  The students (many of whom he 
referred to as hot college chicks) were basically the families of 
businesspeople who were going to be coming over to this for 
work and who already were proficient in English.  So he basically 
talked to college chicks all day.

But the $5 all you can eat beer and pizza!
