Although, at least in bavaria (I guess more in the rural areas) it's possible to wear it regularly. And during the Oktoberfest time ;-) ac>> From ~2010 to 2019 I've been to Augsburg around 2x per year, there has ac>> been a retro computing exhebition called RetroPulsiv there at the ac>> Fachhochschule. A> That _does_ sound pretty cool. Yes, it was! I have been to almost all events, I only missed one when we moved from Tbingen to Karlsruhe and didn't have the time and energy to drive to Augsburg. Due to internal difficulties in the team behind the event, there only will be further events when someone will take over the management. This is a sad, but as I still don't participate in any events due to COVID risks (and the risk of long-term effects). I also hosted my own event, the "RetroThek" at the public library in Karlsruhe (where I'm working), which took place in 2018 and 2019. Maybe one day I feel safe enough to host it again, but at least not this year. A> Not sure if cool enough that I'd make a six-hour journey for it (I like A> BBSs and the demoscene, but, oddly, not so much for the old hardware), but A> it certainly sounds like it'd be neat. Yes, it was neat. Many people together with their old computers met, had fun, played games, repaired stuff and had some talks. It felt like a little family who met twice a year, and some also came to the RetroThek, so I met them a third time :) I also found the HomeCon in Hanau (near Frankfurt) which takes place several times a year, but I only have been there ~2-3 times. ac>> Sometimes, I've also been to the city center and I always was puzzled ac>> that the McDonalds is now where it is at K”nigsplatz. ac>> In my memory, it always has been where the "Telekom Shop" is today and ac>> not where a shoe shop used to be (2 houses to the left of the Telekom ac>> Shop). I also found it interesting how busy it was A> there, and if you go just a bit outside the area, suddenly it's a sleep A> neighborhood. Yep. AFAIR most people are active around the streets from Hauptbahnhof to K”nigsplatz and from K”nigsplatz to Moritzplatz and Rathausplatz. Outside of these main streets it always has been more quiet. A> Which I found out when exploring a bit, and trying to see the insides of a A> church or two that was outside of the main touristy areas. And where are you going then? :) Regards, Anna --- OpenXP 5.0.57 * Origin: Imzadi Box Point (21:3/127.1) .
