And, yeah, even if someone was stationed in Germany, I'm not sure they'd end up touring around Augsburg. And I've only been to North America and Europe, so far, for continents. Not that I'm a huge travel person or anything. That said, one of the neat things I've learned about Augsburg is that there's a place that, if you're Catholic, willing to abide by a variety of rules, etc., you can rent an apartment in this place for 88 cents a year. I guess it's at that, because it's basically the price, un-adjusted for inflation, that the place charged back in 1521 when they opened. Or something along that line, anyway, since talking about currency over that long of a stretch is always a bit weird. But it's meant as a place for people who are the working poor to get back on their feet, or, if they're older, a place to stay as you get older/sicker/die, as there's a place for that, too. And it was kind of fascinating, as it was paid for by a guy / family that clearly owned much of the city. And it was kind of interesting, as I saw that place, and then saw the gravestone for the same people, in a prominent place in a protestant church. Which led to its own interesting anecdotes, because, yeah, the church started out Catholic, and there was evidently a long-planned design for putting a fence around the grave that got tossed when the church went protestant. (And my apologies on the religion talk. I'm not meaning to talk about religion, and trying to just talk about the historical aspects, just that it was directly pertinent on a couple of interesting things. Much like when I get selfies with organs.) --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A47 2021/12/24 (Linux/64) * Origin: Storm BBS (21:2/108) .
