Yep it feels like this is a 2-3 part problem. Probably the first part if just
bolting old protocols and software together with the newer BBS stuff. That I
think won't be overly hard. But the bigger issue is how to scale it in a way
that others can jump on board and do the same. Without nodes in a mesh you
don't have much resilience going on if you can only chat with yourself or 1-2
others locally.
