I like the ASCII mode idea - I had a caller call with a dumb terminal and started playing with it in Synchronet. Memory fades, but I think there's a tool to convert ANSI to ASCII, so I made ASCII version of my menus. If you call with an ASCII terminal, it automatically displays an .ASC menu file.
