Having watched him 'complain' about the fact that it 204beers doesn't look quite right on his XT / procomm terminal is yet another reason why I keep my bbs fairly compatible. I always try to make sure that my board doesn't look crappy, but it does at least work 100% on a retro PC. I can't say I've tried it using a real terminal like Procomm but I dare say it should work there too. It definetly works on Michael Brutman's mTelnet. If you can, I'd recommend you have a 'compatible' version of 204beers, and I appreciate you for enabling UTF8 so that mTelnet works, there are a few other enhancements you can make to your board to make it have a compatible mode. BBSes are retro things, therefore I always think that they should stay retro, for example, big screen 120xwhatever doesn't work with a DOS computer, therefore I don't consider those a true BBS. 20forbeers does rock, and I'm glad that Adrian showed off a really good example of a BBS. Shame it couldn't work 100% for him, but still, it is a great BBS! hyjinx // Alistair Ross Author of 'Back to the BBS' Documentary: https://bit.ly/3tRINeL (YouTube) alsgeeklab.com --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A49 2024/05/29 (Linux/64) * Origin: bbs.alsgeeklab.com:2323 (21:1/126) .
