Subj : Proxmox -> ESXi or Hyper-V To : All From : Warpslide Date : Thu May 22 2025 11:14:20 Ok, I'm sure Proxmox is great & all, but doesn't seem to work well on my NUC. The network will just drop on the host randomly. We were watching something off of the Plex server yesterday when we see "connection to the server lost" and then suddenly all of the content just disappears. Try to log into Proxmox to see what's up and lo & behold I'm once again unable to log into the web interface. Log into the box directly and it's responsive, run a few commands and all of the VMs are up, but there's no network connectivity. Reboot the host and all comes back online. I got a USB3 NIC from Amazon & disabled the internal NIC, that seemed to work for a week & then same thing happens. Reading online it looks like Proxmox & Intel NUCs don't play very well together, or at least haven't since version 8. My specific model is NUC10i7FNH. It looks like ESXi has a free version again, so considering going back to that as it ran fine for years without any issues. I also have a Windows Server 2019 license (which might also work to activate Server 2022) that I could use to run Hyper-V instead. Does anyone have any thoughts? Jay ....
