My wife is having surgery on the 27th. She has a benign hemangioma on her liver. It's not life threatening, but could lead to potential risks down the road if left alone, so it has to come out.

We'll have our Christmas with our kids and in-laws, and then make our way to the hospital a couple days later. Recovery will take up to a week, which means we'll likely celebrate New Years there.
