Not many people know this, but mayonnaise used to be very popular in Mexico.

They couldn't make it themselves and had to have it shipped.  One year, the
boat carrying it sunk and they had to go without mayonnaise for several months.
 They still commemorate that day as Cinco de Mayo.

(Sorry. Dad's been gone for a decade now. He last fell ill this Friday.  So I
had to do a dad joke to remember him.)
