Start talks to acquire STAC, and while in negotiation, snarf enough data on the product to create your own product. If I'm not mistaken, DriveSpace was essentially DoubleSpace 2.0, with improvements and the STAC-suspicious code removed. Microsoft gets a jump on their 1.0 product, pays a slap on the wrist to STAC, then kills the marketplace with their own free product.
