I found Alan's website zisman.ca, he certainly sounds interesting, I don't think our paths have crossed in the past.  I moved to this area about 15 years ago, I grew up and went to school on the Canadian prarie (Saskatchewan), so my roots only go so deep.

From the website, it sounds like Alan may still be active on LowEndMac.com.

A name from Vancouver that I do remember from the past is Dallas Hinton, of The Bandmaster BBS, and Fidonet Region 17 coordinator for many years.  I don't know Dallas personally, but I remember him as a long-time figure in Fidonet and BBSing in Vancouver.  Just mentioning in case the name rings a bell with anyone else. :)
