I do side work on computers for folks.  I remember a few years ago a lady came to me after her husband died.  He had a massive music collection they built together and because it was his account they wouldn't give it to her after he died.  She was pretty devastated.  I pleaded with apple but to no avail and I really felt for her.  I vowed after that to never do business with them or support a walled garden ever again.  

I get my music all over the place.  IF your old skewl enough listen to noverdu.com:88  this is all mod tunes from back in the day it accepts requests.  It will take a long time to load the request dialog since its such a huge library.  I converted all the tunes from mod archive I could get. In fact they should be releasing a new one for the year end I will have to go get it and add it to the list. 

I'm sure people will always flock to a polished experience rather than put work in to anything else.  I do get the time constants and so does the biggity big corps.
