I'm no expert here, but the characteristics of eclectic motors is... massive power consumption and torque a low rpm. The faster you go the more efficient they become, like a lot of electrickery the closer you push it to maximum performance the better they get efficiency wise. There are real world changes to that though, like drag coefficiency generally dropping off at higher speeds.. so it becomes a losing battle to go faster.
