Even at the poor nominal efficieny of your ICE, given the laws of
thermodynamics in the power generation chain, I expect ICE is still going to
be better.  Its pretty unlikely renewables will ever be able supply majority
power. Given that you're going to wildly increase power consumption by giving
everyone an EV and you're taking away some of the best possible generation we
have.
