That's the only way to learn... Break it first and then try to sticky tape
it back into a working system.

I've only done one server 2022 install, and that was early last year. It
was a brand new machine, so didn't have that issue.

I'd go with Proxmox. Unless you know a heap of powershell, then you want to
learn more linux, so go proxmox.
