I would be interested in numbers and hard facts. I honestly have no idea how much energy and other resources the production of a new Raspberry consumes and how much waste it creates. I still doubt that wasting 10W or more with an old energy-inefficient computer is less resource intensive (10W -> 87kWh in a year), but I might be wrong. But it really depends on the older computer.
