Actually, my experience has been that VOIP works *better* with higher speed
modems (14.4, 28k, and (especially) 56k) not because of the speed of the
modem, but because of compression / error correction features they have that
slower, older modems do not. My 56k v.92 modem works better than any of the
other ones I have.
