I bought a car a couple of years ago, and they made me wait while they
put a 10-day hold. On a cashier's check. I was annoyed at first, and
always suspect someone's trying to make interest off of the money when
it's sitting around like that, but the dealership doesn't charge a
markup. They'd make a lot more money by doing what everyone else is
doing.

Next time I buy from them, I'm going haggle based on financing it, drive
the car off the lot that day, then pay off the loan in 30 days.
