Well, IMO nothing beats being able to go the the chicken coop and pick your
fresh breakfast from there XD

The important part of having your own means of production is that they make you
less dependant on third parties. If there are distribution problems at the
supermarket, or you just feel too lazy to move up to the supermarket, you will
still have food if you produce your own.
