I used to think the next format movies would be distributed on would be USB flash drives or something similar.  I still think that would be a nice option. With streaming, even if I buy a title on a streaming service, I still don't feel like I truly "own" the copy I bought when they're still in control of it (and I've heard of at least one case where someone bought a movie on a streaming service and they removed it at some point, so they weren't able to watch it anymore).
