The youtube videos are always full of the extreme options, and videos of coups catching on fire. In Indiana I suppose it just depends, I would say the past 7ish years we've had very little snow but have had Polar Vortex like wind and temperatures more frequently if I recall. I just know the wind cuts right through me moreso as the years progress -- could be age, but don't think so. The hens combs do tend to get frost bit, even with a tarp blocking the wind of the run, and fresh / thick layer of bedding in the coup. They prefer weeds, blueberries, and just about any table scraps. Also tend to produce more eggs the more we feed them what we normally would compost. I'll have to try the "warm" meals in winter. We do have on of those bulbs as we did buy them as chicks and had to keep them warm. However now the only thing I have a heater for is their water as it does freeze solid otherwise. |15-|12t|04G |15www|08.|15theun|07dergrou|08nd|07.|08us|15:|0810023 ....
