Sounds like a lot of solid activities to be up to! And I know a variety of people who enjoy having chickens, so hopefully you enjoy making pets out of them (assuming you're not actually going the for-profit farm route).

And congrats on the new job. Hopefully they treat you well.

Pfft, no. My ability to understand is better, but I haven't had classes, so improvement is slow. Certainly, when people talk at me about topics I understand, I can generally follow along, and generally understand daily-interactions, but I get lost pretty quickly, and run out of words _very_ quickly.

Reading works a bit better, but it's still a challenge.

If only I had moved to a Spanish-speaking country, where my previously-acquired level of language ability would've made real fluency a bit easier to come by. :)

Though "fluent" is hard to define anyway. My German is such that, if people can't speak English, I can find a way for people to understand me, and to understand them. It'll just be painful for both of us.
