It's a rough cast concrete pond that came with the house when we bought it. To start with we had tried to put a pond liner in but that was a massive fail as I had to cut it to accommodate an overflow pipe that comes up from the base of the pond. Looking back I don't know why I bothered with that idea. So this time around it was swimming pool paint (only colour is a light blue - sigh) and before we used it we cleaned out the pond, got rid of all loose stones and grit in it. Then ran a coat of some pre-sealer paint we were told to use before using the pool paint. Then did 3 coats of pool paint and waited 2 weeks before filling up the pond Now we've bought 6 new terracotta pots that we can put the Lillys back into and this weekend is all about doing that and tidying up some stonework. Hopefully in a few more weeks we can buy some goldfish and get them in It's autumn here and getting colder quick, so I am hopeful in the coming weeks we can get it sorted before the weekends become too meh.
