My mother use to score the ham to end up with diamond shapes that she would
then place a clove in the middle of.  Next would be to cover the whole ham
with pineapple rings. Then the whole thing would be placed in the oven for, as
far as I was concerned, too long to bake!  The pineapple would be the first
thing I would go for.
