Good to hear about the scars.  I've already noticed the differences in processing food.  I picked up a bottle of "digestive enzymes" which do seem to help after a heavy or fatty meal.

We went out last night to celibate the other half's birthday to an Indian restaurant which was about an hour away from home.  Lots of heavy/fatty foods to be found there, but I brought one of those digestive enzymes with me and took it just before the meal, and thankfully everything turned out ok.
